Bankowe ABC dla młodzieży
ABC in the banking area for youth
A new project about education in banking was started by “Educational portal Krakow” („Edukacyjny Kraków”) on the first of October. It is called “Banking – ABC” and is co-financed by Poland`s National Central Bank (Narodowy Bank Polski). What is special about it, is that it is going to be the basis for a portal about banking for the youth. Among other things, a range of material about the economy or interesting tools for managing a budget will be provided there. The complete material will be prepared by the youth for the youth in this case.
Even a 13-year-old can open an own bank account in Poland. Unfortunately, the average 13-year-old does not know much about banking. There is a module called “Education for active life in economy” in the course of “social studies” in school. Practical experience in school and various reports approve that the knowledge of pupils about finances is small. The project is meant for the youth, but the competition is just for pupils from Krakow.
CHALLENGE:
• The young people write texts explaining the most important terms in banking.
• Practical tools for managing the own finances (pocket money) in the form of a planing tool with the option of creating a profile and the possibillity of following the own expences over a long period
• Tips to help saving money, all tips being coordinated by psychologists
• The sent in works by the pupils will be used as a basis for didactic material – for the youth – providing multimedia presentations explaining banking in an easy way and lexica will be created with the most important terms of banking.
GOALS:
Predominantely, it is the chance to learn the competences of conscious handling of banking services and the understanding of economical reality. The course of the contest will be attended by evaluational researches – the results are required to determine data about the approachability of information about economy and for this target audience.
CALL FOR PAPERS:
The works must be sent until 15th of December. The drawing is going to be on 14th January 2010 during the celebratory final show in the public library in Krakow and in the Business-Informations-Center in Krakow.
