Back in the past
Challenge
How do you manage to keep alive important events from the history and not let them to stay a dusty card of a history? How you can revive the history of the Warsaw Uprising? How do you manage to make this independence movement of the Warsaw citizens during the World War II be a part of the presence? How do you move young people to step 65 years back into history?
Solution
Of course you know that the most beloved way is to speak with a fellow and follow his stories. That’s why we created two fictive profiles at Facebook – according to the celebrations of the 65. Anniversary of the beginning of the Warsaw Uprising – and these are Sosna Dwadzieściacztery and Kostek Dwadzieściatrzy. It is a couple, two young Warsaw citizens who report „live”, day by day over 63 days how the Uprising is developing. They write like the youth at that time, they describe their life and put photos online which reflect at that time.
Thank to such solution we used the newest technology to bow the time line and to make a time journey: into the year 1944.
Results
Our heroes are one of the most beloved private profiles at the Polish language of Facebook. Generally they have over 2000 friends who comment their opinions and talk vividly about the Uprising. Millions of people were informed about their existence – through the media: TV, radio, Internet. This project is still developing – as the Uprising – up to the 3rd October. And we win still new friends.
